💞 A Final Note From Score More Resale 💞
So… I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately, and I’ve made a decision.
I’m going to be shutting down Score More Resale on Facebook.
When I first created Score More Resale, my goal was pretty simple: send more traffic to my eBay stores and create another stream of income to help financially support a physical move I needed to make. I went hard at it. I was trying to build another basket to put an egg into, because at that point in my life, I felt like I needed as many baskets as I could possibly create.
But life had other plans for me.
That physical move ended up taking me somewhere completely different — somewhere better, and somewhere where I no longer feel like I have to live in the hustle-and-bustle grind that was physically wearing me down.
When I lost Walt after 34 years of marriage last May, my entire life went into a tailspin. Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time trying to reinvent myself and figure out what my life is supposed to look like moving forward.
On August 5th, after being displaced for 455 days, I finally came home.
I moved back into the property Walt bought from the land bank, along with my daughter Reanna, and now we’re restoring the house and rebuilding our lives here.
And after finally settling into my new routine, I’ve spent the last couple of weeks really looking at the things in my life and asking myself:
What is still serving a purpose?
And what am I holding onto simply because I’m used to carrying it?
Score More Resale has been one of those things.
I originally created this page because I needed another source of income. I needed to hustle. I needed to grind. I needed to make things work.
But I don't feel that same demand anymore.
I’m still going to resell. 😊
I still love creating digitally.
And I’m sure I’ll always have some kind of creative project going on.
But my major focus now is writing the books I’ve always wanted to write — especially the ones about our family, our stories, and our legacy.
After becoming widowed at 56 and spending this past year trying to figure out who I am now and how I want to move through the final chapters of my life, I’ve realized something:
I want to slow down.
I hustled most of my life.
And I don't want to spend the rest of it feeling like I’m always chasing the next thing.
There’s actually another little secret I’ll share. 🤫
After losing Walt, I started another page. It has been a VERY slow burn, and honestly, I don't care about the numbers over there. I don't really advertise it or push it.
That page is more for me.
It’s part of my own therapy and creativity, and maybe someday I’ll share more about it. But for now, I’m happy just letting it grow at its own pace.
As for Score More Resale…
I want to say THANK YOU. ❤️
To every person who followed, commented, shared, encouraged me, tagged me, networked with me, answered questions, supported my crazy ideas, or simply showed up.
I came here thinking I was building a way to drive traffic to my eBay stores.
Instead, I ended up making some really wonderful friends.
I found people I could network with, learn from, laugh with, and encourage along the way. And honestly, that became something much more valuable than I ever expected.
I’ll probably still pop on from time to time to check in on my friends and see what everybody is up to. 😂
But because so many of you have tagged my name and recommended Score More Resale to other people who were looking for places to connect and grow, I would really love to see someone else take my spot.
Someone who is still in that hustle.
Someone who is trying to grow.
Someone who needs the opportunity to get their name in front of more people.
Go take the spot. 😊
And I’ll leave you with one final thought.
Life can be short.
But I don't think life is measured by how much time we have.
I think it’s measured by the memories we make with that time.
If I could go back and redo anything, there is one thing I would change.
I would put my phone down.
I would put my work down.
I would put the hustle and grind down.
I would go to the family barbecues.
I would sit around the bonfire.
I would go to the park with my grandchildren.
I would choose the moments that I thought I had plenty of time to experience later.
Because now I understand something I didn't understand then.
Sometimes you think you can always make up the time later.
And sometimes…
you can't.
The lesson is learned now, but the family member I would have shared those moments with is forever gone.
So please…
Don't let the hustle convince you that everything else can wait.
Don't let your phone steal moments you can never get back.
Don't let work become so important that you forget to actually live.
Don't let time run your life.
You run time. 💞
Thank you for being part of this chapter of my life.
Now it’s time for me to turn the page. ❤️
