What Are You Assuming About Yourself?

Most people are aware of what they think.
Few are aware of what they assume.
And yet assumptions are often the hidden architects of our experiences.
They quietly shape what we notice.
What we expect.
What we believe is possible.
What we tolerate.
What we pursue.
What we avoid.
The interesting thing about assumptions is that they rarely announce themselves.
They don’t walk into the room and say:
“Hello, I am the belief creating your experience.”
They operate in the background.
Silent.
Unquestioned.
Accepted.
Until one day you begin paying attention.
Think about it.
Before you entered your last conversation, what were you assuming about yourself?
Before you walked into that meeting?
Before you made that decision?
Before you pursued that opportunity?
Before you entered that relationship?
Every experience is influenced by the assumptions you bring into it.
If I assume I am not enough, I will experience life differently than someone who assumes they are already whole.
If I assume people cannot be trusted, I will interpret situations differently than someone who assumes people are doing the best they can with the awareness they have.
If I assume life is against me, I will see obstacles everywhere.
If I assume life is working with me, I will begin noticing opportunities.
The assumption changes the experience.
Not because the world changed.
Because perception changed.
And perception shapes reality more than most people realize.
This is why awareness is so important.
Because assumptions often hide beneath statements that sound completely normal.
“I’ve always been this way.”
“That’s just who I am.”
“People like me don’t do that.”
“Life doesn’t work that way.”
“I could never do that.”
Those statements may sound harmless.
But hidden within them are assumptions.
Assumptions about identity.
Assumptions about possibility.
Assumptions about worth.
Assumptions about limitation.
The question is:
Are they true?
Or have they simply been repeated so many times that they feel true?
Many of the limitations people experience are not walls.
They are assumptions.
Invisible assumptions.
Assumptions that have never been questioned.
Assumptions that have been mistaken for facts.
Imagine carrying a belief for twenty years that was never true.
Imagine building your life around a conclusion that was formed in a moment of pain.
Imagine allowing one experience to define what is possible for the rest of your life.
Many people don’t have to imagine it.
They are living it.
This is why I encourage people to become curious.
Not judgmental.
Curious.
Curious about the assumptions operating beneath the surface.
Curious about the stories creating their experiences.
Curious about the identities they have accepted as themselves.
Because curiosity opens doors.
Judgment closes them.
The moment you become aware of an assumption, you create the possibility of questioning it.
And the moment you question it, you create the possibility of freedom.
You may discover that what you’ve been calling reality is actually an interpretation.
What you’ve been calling truth is actually an assumption.
What you’ve been calling identity is actually a story.
And that discovery can change everything.
So today, pause for a moment.
Look honestly at your experiences.
Look honestly at your reactions.
Look honestly at your expectations.
Then ask yourself one simple question:
“What am I assuming about myself right now?”
Because the answer may reveal the very thing shaping the experience you’re having.
And once it is seen, it no longer has to remain hidden.

Remember To Look In The Mirror And Smile……IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE YOU!!!!!!!
