📚 You asked, I’m answering… and showing you where I read when I’m NOT on the bus.
I get asked all the time:
“Okay, but what does your HOUSE look like if your bookstore is this cute?”, “I would never want to leave the bus!”, “Do you just have books everywhere at home too?”
Well… exhibit A. 😂📚
Yes. The bookstore owner does, in fact, have a home library.
So while I’m sharing a little peek behind the scenes, I thought it would be fun to answer some of the questions I get ALL. THE. TIME.
📚 How much are your books?
My books are sold at the publisher’s suggested retail price (the price printed on the book). I know you can sometimes find them cheaper at Amazon, Walmart or Target, but I simply can’t compete with giant corporations and still keep a tiny mobile bookstore rolling around western North Dakota. Diesel is expensive, friends. 😂 When you shop with me, you’re supporting an actual person, a small business and the ability to keep bringing books to communities that don’t have bookstores.
📚 Where do you get your books?
They’re all NEW and I order directly from publishers or through Ingram, one of the major book distributors. No secret Amazon warehouse in my garage. Although if you ask my husband about boxes… he gets a little grumpy! 😂
📚 How do you read SO many books?
I triple-threat my reading: physical books, Kindle AND audiobooks. I also hardly ever watch TV. If I’m sitting down, relaxing, driving, cleaning, doing something mindless… chances are there’s a book involved somehow.
📚 Do you read every book you sell?
I WISH. 😂 There aren't enough hours in the day. But I read as much as I possibly can because I genuinely think it makes me better at recommending books. There’s a big difference between “people seem to like this one” and “I READ THIS. TRUST ME.”
📚 How do you decide what books to carry?
A dangerous combination of new releases, trends, customer requests, what I think my readers will love, what catches my eye and occasionally just ✨vibes✨. I carry Romance, Thrillers/Mystery/Horror, Fantasy/Romantasy and General Fiction and I’m always paying attention to what you guys are asking for.
📚 Can you order a book you don't have?
YES! Just because it isn't currently on the shelves doesn't necessarily mean I can't get it. Ask me! I would love to order or pre-order any book for you!
📚 Do you only sell spicy books?
😂 NO. Do I sell a lot of them? Absolutely. But RBL carries everything from zero-spice romance to dark romance, literary fiction, thrillers, horror, fantasy and plenty in between.
📚 Do you actually have another job too?
Yes. Somehow. 😂 RBL is my business, but I also work full-time which is why you'll sometimes see me answering messages, ordering books, reading ARCs, packing Book Boxes and doing bookstore things at very questionable hours.
📚 What's your favorite genre?
This is like asking me to pick a favorite child. I read ALL genres. By default I am a romance reader but really my mood decides who I am that week.

📚 Do you have too many books?
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question.
