Recently back from the ICAST show in Orlando, and just thinking about some of our favorite moments of that experience — one of which found US. 🎣⁣

It’s those random, unexpected exchanges that stick with you the most. We had the friendliest woman track us down at our booth, who explained that her good friends had encouraged her to carry KORKZ at her store, Strike Zone Fishing in Jacksonville, Florida.⁣

Angela explained that her friends had bought their KORKZ at the Abaco Inn in the Bahamas, and ever since then had told her she should sell them too. We liked Angela's friends instantly 😂😎⁣

We made Angela a few samples at the show so she could get feedback from her team regarding which logo they liked best.⁣

ICAST was our third trade show — and one thing we didn’t expect (which sounds obvious in hindsight) is how meaningful it is to connect with your booth neighbors.

Small businesses who show up to these shows understand the hard work involved. They get it. And they genuinely want to see you succeed.

Miracle Mist Inc. got it immediately. They were so enthusiastic about KORKZ and asked us to send samples — which are headed their way very soon! 🙌🏼

It’s pretty mind-boggling to see some of the “booths” at the ICAST tradeshow. There are certain sections of the show that Ron refers to as “Hollywood” because they are so eye-poppingly impressive.

I’ll try and grab more videos today but here’s just one - of an 18-wheeler functioning as an aquarium. Crazy. And humbling how bare-bones basic our setup is 😆. But when I made this observation, S***t quickly piped up and said something along the lines of, just because your display is fancy doesn’t mean your product is necessarily good. And vice versa. Right you are, buddy. Right you are.

I cannot count the number of people who’ve come by the KORKZ booth and commented on how much they love the idea and lamented about how many pairs of sunglasses they’ve lost - or how many KORKZ they could’ve had made from all the wine they drink. 😜

The comments have been great and the stories even better - we had a very nice woman stop by who owns two tackle shops in Florida and has friends who’ve encouraged her to carry KORKZ in her stores. I like her friends already 😆. They bought their KORKZ at the Abaco Inn in the Bahamas.

We had another man stop by who is responsible for branded products at his marina in Costa Rica, and had seen someone wearing a KORKZ at their shop!

Wheels up to Orlando. ICAST 2026 starts tomorrow. 🎣

ICAST is the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades - it is a massive sportfishing industry trade show, and this will be our first year in attendance. Wish us luck!

Today is Meet the Market, where KORKZ travels table-to-table in one section of the show to pitch our product in 10 minutes or less to various vendors.

We found out who we were meeting with yesterday. By this morning, every one of them had their own company’s logo laser engraved on a cork. Scheels. Harmar Bait & Tackle. Navira. Naples Outfitters. Island Hopper. Fishing Tackle Grab Bag. And more.

They’ll also get a line sheet, promo card, business card, and a paper clip that looks super cool but basically holds nothing together. At least you can count on KORKZ to function properly. Our form-over-function pseudo clips, not so much. 😜

We’ll also be setting up our very own KORKZ booth today. Booth 723. Wednesday through Friday. Orange County Convention Center. It’ll be fun to see what happens.

BVI recap — but we’re starting with the ending. 🌊⁣

Our last stop on our recent BVI boat charter was Cooper Island Beach Club — and it turned out to be the best stop of the trip.⁣
⁣
We dropped in to to show our samples, and as luck would have it, the buyer was on property that day. One conversation later, Cooper Island placed an order for 100 custom KORKZ — laser engraved with their logo on one side and their nautical coordinates on the other.⁣
