I'm late with this post. But I gotta say being in the mountains often makes me lose track of all sense of time.
We are closed through Friday while we finish up moving the youngest kiddo into college.
Saturday:
2:00 Banned Book Club with Jerry. He will lead the discussion on the last few parts of Caste.
6:00 TRB Book Club with Erin. We will chat about Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons. Light snacks will be provided.

If we have puffy eyes or are sniffling, know we are fine just adjusting to having one less kiddo in the house.

The count down is undeniable. We leave Friday for a week of getting the youngest to college with a little mountain therapy. Come grab a book and drink before we go!

Regular hours thru Thursday then we are closed for a week to move the youngest to college and have a little vacation. If you have pick ups make sure to grab them before Friday. Subscriptions will be available on Thursday or after we get back.

Our hours are a little wonky. Please check before you come out!
Thursday we are excited to welcome Kana with JOI to bring a workshop teaching the Japanese art of Chigiri-e (torn paper art). This is FREE and ideal for all ages and abilities! As space is limited you MUST RSVP to attend! 5:00
Saturday Jerry will be our canvasing with Jerry Jones for NHC Schools (if you would like to join reach out to us!) Erin will be at Mad Mole Brewing with some books for their bookfair!
Sunday we will have Stitch and Bitch (with a dash of hope for Sweater Weather). Bring what ever you are working on or come learn how to start a granny square sweater or blanket.

Calling all local authors! The Cape Fear Book Festival is returning in November 2026, and we’re so excited for our third annual event celebrating local authors and the stories they bring to our community!

Vendor applications for the Cover to Cover Book Sale are now open. Local authors from all genres are invited to apply for a space to meet readers and sell their books.

This August most of our events are being moved to the weekends.
EXCEPT our first event!
🇯🇵 will join us on the 6th at 5:00 to teach a FREE art workshop. Discovee Chigiri-e, A traditional Japanese paper art. Create beautiful pictures by tearing paper by hand. It's a fun, relaxing activity for all ages and skill levels. You must RSVP for this free event as space is limited.
📚We will be on the 8th with a selection of our books for their book fair.
🧶On the 9th we will start thinking about sweater weather (or maybe hoping for it) with Stitch and Bitch. At 4:00 bring whatever you are working on, or we can help you start a granny square sweater.
🦉We will be closed from the 15th-21st to move our youngest into college.
🚫On the 22nd at 2:00 Jerry will lead the Banned Book Club through the last three parts of Caste and will announce the next book.
📗Also on the 22nd at 6:00 is TRB Book Club. Since July was full of changes we are still reading and discussing A Fellowship of Librarians and Dragons.
🖌️On the 29th we welcome back .co for art night. Tickets are $20 and will be on sale to the public next week.
🤫Silent Book Club is on the 30th at 4:00 followed by
🪏Garden Club at 6:00.
