There’s one day left to send in your letter of interest for a seat on the DSEA Executive Board!

Are you an active union educator working in New Castle or Kent counties? Are you looking to play a bigger role in the Delaware State Education Association?

The 36-member DSEA Executive Board – the main governing body of our union – is currently seeking candidates interested in filling three vacant seats representing New Castle County and one vacant seat representing Kent County.

Anyone interested in serving on the DSEA Executive Board as a representative from New Castle and Kent counties can send a letter of interest by mailing DSEA President Tameka Mays at 136 E. Water St., Dover, DE, 19901 by Monday, September 14.

Letters of interest also can be emailed to [email protected].

The Executive Board will vote to fill the vacant seats from the pool of applicants on Thursday, September 24.

New Executive Board members selected to fill the vacant seats from New Castle and Kent counties will serve from September 24, 2026, to August 31, 2027, per the DSEA Bylaws.

Nominate them for one of DSEA’s All Stars in Education Awards!

From September to May, our union recognizes one teacher and one Education Support Professional in cooperation with iHeartMedia. Winners receive a plaque, a $100 gift card, and other giveaways during a surprise visit to their school or worksite.

Nominations are accepted from educators, administrators, parents, students and community members.

Our Teacher of the Month Award honors classroom teachers and specialists (school counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, librarians, occupational and physical therapists, speech language pathologists, etc.)

Our ESP of the Month Award honors paraprofessionals, custodians, food service workers, school secretaries, resources officers, transportation workers, etc.)
