Introducing Uncle Slam!!! I've been working on a 1lb battle bot. This one is designed for the plastic ant class. Which must be 3d printed and weigh under a pound. It's been a fun design challenge. Last weekend I completed and the and went 2 and 2. I've learned a lot and I've got lots of ideas to improve it for next time.

I finally got a few free minutes in the shop and organized my hand tool wall. The wall is actually a repurposed head board from a kids bed i made a few years ago.

This is the way...when your son asks for a Mandaloraian Helmet and you have a 3 printer. You make a Mandaloraian Helmet. I had to print this guy in four pieces to fit on my printer and then glue it back together. This picture shows it after a few layers of filler primer and sanding. I think there will be a few more before it's smooth enough for a shiny metal spray finish. Thanks and for the inspo.

It was time to replace the first cutting board i ever made. This time I went much thicker (1.25"), more strips, darker wood and a handle. It is made of maple (light ), Walnut (darker brown), sapele (red brown), and an unknown wood in there. Thanks alsonto for the cutting board oil. My first board was under 3/4” and was made of a few really wider pieces and a couple narrow strips. This combo led to a lot of cupping and eventually cracking. I also like darker wood cause they look better over time and hide staining.

I almost had my kids convinced I stole the moon with my shrink ray.
