Let’s talk about AI and design?
Chile… stop relying on AI alone and calling it design.
Yes, AI is a tool. A powerful one, actually. I use it. Most creatives use it. But somewhere along the way, people started skipping the creative part altogether.
Every day I’m seeing flyers, announcements, social media graphics, professional headshots, logos, and marketing materials that all look exactly the same. Same poses. Same lighting. Same layouts. Same aesthetic. Different business, same graphic.
And it’s starting to feel like we’re trading creativity for convenience.
The problem isn’t AI.
The problem is using AI without any design expertise, strategy, originality, or personality behind it.
A great design isn’t just about making something look pretty. It’s about communication. It’s about understanding the audience. It’s about creating something that feels unique to the brand, event, person, or message.
AI can generate a graphic.
It can’t replace your creativity, your perspective, your lived experiences, your storytelling, or your ability to create something that makes people stop scrolling and pay attention.
Because when everybody uses the same prompts, the same generators, and the same shortcuts…
Everything starts looking like a template.
And honestly?
It’s chapping my ass.
Use AI. Absolutely.
But bring your creativity with you.
Bring your expertise with you.
Bring your swag with you.
Because the human element is still what makes great design unforgettable and allows you to stand out.
