Tomorrow we're packing up Trentheim Designs and heading just down the road for the Hasentree Fall Market!

We'll have a selection of TD creations with us, and—as usual—there's a pretty good chance we'll bring something you haven't seen from us before.

That's one of our favorite things about doing local markets. You can look at pictures online all day, but there's something different about picking up a piece, seeing the layers and engraving firsthand, and meeting the slightly questionable people responsible for making it.

The Hasentree Fall Market (1200 Keith Rd, Wake Forest) begins Saturday, September 19. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Indecision is exhausting.

Fortunately, we have technology.

Well… a coin.

Trentheim Designs Decision Coins exist for those moments when two perfectly reasonable choices have somehow turned into a 20-minute discussion.

Dinner? Flip it.
Who's driving? Flip it.
One more episode or go to bed like a responsible adult? Flip it.

And, of course, if you don't like the answer the coin gives you, congratulations—you apparently knew what you wanted all along.

That's science.

We have a fairly simple design philosophy at Trentheim Designs:

Sometimes you make what people need.
Sometimes you make what people ask for.
And sometimes you make something because one of us said, “You know what would be cool…?”

That last category may be responsible for an unreasonable percentage of what comes out of our workshop.

Wood, leather, acrylic, aluminum—sometimes even a perfectly innocent object that probably didn't expect to encounter a laser that day. We design, prototype, occasionally mutter things that shouldn't be repeated on social media, make adjustments, and eventually something new emerges.

That's half the fun of being a small maker business: we don't have to stay in one lane.

If it's interesting enough, we'll probably try to make it.

Yes, you can find us in actual stores.

We love seeing people at markets, but you don't have to wait until our next vendor event to find Trentheim Designs in the wild.

Some of our work has escaped the workshop and taken up residence in brick-and-mortar shops around North Carolina.

We're makers. We do exactly the same thing.

What exactly does Trentheim Designs make?

People occasionally ask us what Trentheim Designs makes.

The easy answer would be laser-cut and engraved products.

The more accurate answer is… whatever interesting idea wanders into the workshop and refuses to leave.

One day it might be something for a tabletop gamer. The next could be Bigfoot, a runner’s medal display, a suncatcher, a sign, leatherwork, or a completely custom project that started with, “Hey, do you think you could make…?”

Wood, leather, acrylic and metal all find their way through the shop, and we rather like not fitting neatly into a single box.
