PHARRELL'S LV TIMBS: A DIVE INTO LUXURIOUS WORKWEAR REIMAGINED
Louis Vuitton's collaboration with Timberland, unveiled by Pharrell during the recent Paris Fashion Week, has set the fashion world abuzz with anticipation. As the Creative Director of Louis Vuitton Men's division, Pharrell showcased not just a single pair but a lineup of seven distinct silhouettes for the Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
These collaborative Timberland work boots, adorned with both brands' logos, emerged as the stars of a fashion show that can only be described as a Pharrell-ified western rodeo. What initially seemed like a single classic wheat nubuck work boot revealed itself to be a diverse collection, reimagined by Pharrell and his team using Timberland's rich archives.
From laceless buckle-up boots with rubberized toe boxes to classic slip-on work boots with minimal branding, and an extra-tall version of Timberland’s iconic six-inch boots, each design comes with added LV motifs. Louis Vuitton aptly described the collaboration as, "A classic industrial boot proposed in wheat-colored or black waterproof scrivante nubuck lightly debossed with the Maison’s Monogram."
The collection extends beyond traditional work boots, encompassing pebble nubuck and super-grained buffalo nubuck variations, along with a silhouette fifteen percent larger than the classic boot. Pharrell's creative touch breathes new life into these utilitarian pieces, seamlessly blending luxury with workwear.
However, Pharrell’s vision for Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2024 goes beyond footwear. The runway showcased a diverse array of elements, from cowboy hats and graphic puffer jackets to flared jeans and washed-out workwear. Inspired by America's Black cowboys, the collection paints a vivid picture of westernwear in the modern fashion landscape.
