While making the strips for my , I'm still trying to save as much as possible. The papers that come off while trimming go into my compost. The big chunks go into my scrap bin and might get used in the next set of strips for this quilt. The tiny scraps go into my bag that I plan to use for stuffing. (I have aspirations of making myself a yoga bolster). Swipe for a before and after on trimming these strips!

My threshold for keeping scraps is a minimum 3/4 inches in each direction.

Do you ever accidentally skimp on your seam allowance? Whether by mis measuring or by a slip of the blad, it happens to the best of us. I recently ran across the top to use a bit of fusible interfacing to reinforce the seam and to mark it to ensure it gets attention while quilting. I used a safety pin to mark the seams on may tester quilt. I hope that this gives you a reason to hang on to the tiny scraps of interfacing you have leftover from other projects and I hope that it gives you hope that all is not lost when you make a mistake!

How do you feel about ? The upcoming pattern by is a great use of scraps.

Honestly, I really struggle with scrappy designs, but this one has yardage background color and an accent. I picked a for my accent color and used that as a basis to pick scraps out of my scrap bag. Loads of blues, greens, teals, and a smattering of pinks and purples keep this whole quilt cohesive with an overall cool, muted tone.

Also, I'm realizing how well my quilt coordinates with my . I guess I have a style. 😂

I've been off of Instagram for a while. Mostly on accident, but also because life is bananas. We have some major medical stuff coming up and my work is ramping up like crazy and school is going to start soon. And we've been travelling and and and.
