It may be a mess but I am so happy to have it.

My workspace consists of a small busted up desk in the back of my storage room. It may not be pretty but we all have to start somewhere.

This is a pretty good reflection of how I have been feeling lately as well. I have been feeling really unsure of how to restart doing jewelry again after taking an unexpected hiatus after my son was born and as I was trying to figure out my new normal. And I still don't have it all figured out, but I know that I have missed this sooo freaking much.

Right now I am working on some prototypes that I am excited to share with all of you! I really hope you like them.

My very first ring! The one that started it all.

Hey. Hi. What's up. I'm finally writing this out because I have been having a hard time pulling myself away from my new mom life, he is just sooo cute!

But I'm taking this moment to connect with anyone who is still reading because I have been so very, very disconnected. I can say that it was because last year I got a house and had a baby, but it also had a lot more to do with a bad case of imposter syndrome and having no idea what I'm doing with this business stuff.

When I finished school, I had high hopes of what this new chapter would be like. I even chopped my hair off as part of the total transformation I knew was coming! It's hard to admit that when I got overwhelmed, I took myself out of the game. Better to not fail or face the rejection.

I still don't know what I'm doing, but I know that I love making jewelry. I'm still going to do it even if I don't make much money. There is so much more I want to learn and get better at. I still have a day job and a family to look after so my business may be a slow burn and I'm ok with that. Hopefully along the way one of you will like what I make and support the journey.

So anyway, thanks if you read all this and have stuck with me. Let's keep going 💜

After passing his due date and taking 40 hrs of labor this little nugget has made his debut. I was pretty delirious at the end, but I just remember the feeling of fireworks when they put him on my chest. So I guess he knew what he was doing with timing. He looks just like his daddy and his hair you guys! We're so in love. .evans.104 we make pretty cute babies.

I bought these stones months ago in anticipation of releasing an autumn collection. But truth be told I am not anywhere close to having a collection ready and I have been feeling really guilty about it. I have the designs and the desire to create. But managing work and life hasn't left me alot of time to get it done. As a business and artist I should be on top of it, and human shortcomings doesn't seem like an adequate excuse sometimes.

I guess I just wanted to have a real moment for a second instead of another upbeat post that wasn't 100% genuine. Hopefully I am not alone in the struggle of feeling overwhelmed. Thank you if you have read this far and giving me a chance to air this out. This is more a reminder to myself and anyone else that there are hard days but we still need to be kind to ourselves.

This is a custom design that I did for my sister. I don't think it made it on my feed before. She found a beautiful rosy stone and she requested a design featuring a reference to a favorite book of hers. My fingers start to itch when I have a design in my head to needs to come out, and with customs I get to do that for my clients.

Sometimes I just feel so lucky that this is my job thanks to all your support 🖤🖤
