Sides quest for my family on the 4th of July. My parents lead an effort to win the big local boat parade at their home in Maine. So I jumped into action when my mom asked for a Hawaii themed boat! She's an artist and did all the signage and painted the volcano.

Sorry these arn't in the right order... so this is step 1 in my process for creating a balloon design or backdrop set up. First I set up the big items and then see how I will construct the main elements. This also gives me an idea of the size so I can consider transportation and what help I will need.

I used some practice balloons so I could sort out how it would all stay up from a past event. This will come out so much better than I even expected. :) Watch the whole series

Here is the big finale! Full set up at the school for the 2026 Swim Banquet!

It honestly came out better than I expected. It was so sturdy that the moms who stayed to help me take it down were seriously impressed with the construction. That made me feel pretty good, it could have been outdoors on a windy-ish day. All the families came by to take pics with their kids and all the awards at the end of the ceremony. Then all the littles took the balloons to the dance floor and had a whole separate party! This was a great experience and I can't wait to show up for your next event!
