Fresh from the kiln... ✨

There’s something special about opening the kiln and discovering, for the first time, a handmade piece formed from clay. It’s a moment where clay, colour, and creativity come together to reveal something truly unique.

This story bowl carries a little journey of its own — shaped by hand, carefully crafted, and brought to life through the magic of the firing process. Every curve, texture, and glaze detail adds to its character, making it a piece that could never be exactly recreated.

A small piece of pottery with its own story...

There were some young artists in the pottery studio this week! It was so much fun watching their projects come to life! Stay tuned for some colour to be added next week.

First visit to Tadoussac, QC—and what a wonderful place to unwind. Cool breezes, plenty of sunshine, the chance to hear a whale’s blow or catch a glimpse of whales surfacing to feed, the steady hum of the ferry crossing the water, the sweet scent of wild roses, and the peaceful rhythm of the tide rolling in. A place to simply enjoy the moment.

Cue the happy dance 💃 I have more exciting news!

I submitted one of my pottery pieces to the Ottawa Potters Guild - Annual Juried Exhibition -- and I’m so honored to be included. Being part of a juried show like this, and shown alongside such amazing work, is incredibly meaningful to me.

A huge thank you to the Exhibitions Committee for organizing this event and to Juror Mat Karas. And thank you to everyone who came out for the opening ceremony and awards presentation earlier today.

Congratulations to all of the winners! 👏

📍 Location: Horticultural Building, Lansdowne Park
📅 May 1 to 3, 2026
🕰 Part of the Ottawa Clay Festival
🎟 Free to visit | Fully accessible

The exhibition runs until Sunday, May 3rd, and visitors can cast a vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at the end of the show.

As an artist, this is an exciting milestone. I will share the exhibition catalog as soon as it is online.

This bowl is inspired by my love for rivers and lakes. The river is never one color; it listens to the sky and the air, changing with their moods. Sunlight sparkles like diamonds on the water, and the aura of colors during a sunset lingers across its surface. Even so, I am always reminded of its quiet power and strength.
