And that's a wrap. ⚡
This weekend Canaan made some sales, shared his business with many, and even learned how to correctly count change to customers.
More importantly, we spent the weekend together experiencing something new, learning alot, and making new memories. We call that a win.
At 9 years old, Canaan loves to have fun, play sports, and spend time with his friends. But it's been amazing to watch his entrepreneurial side come to life over the last few months.
What started as a goal to earn money for chickens has turned into a business, a dream, and a whole lot of learning.
My hope isn't just that he sells bracelets. My hope is that he's building confidence, learning responsibility, developing communication skills, and discovering what's possible when you're willing to work for something you want.
Some of the lessons he's learning have become a bit of a lost art. Introducing yourself, starting conversations with strangers, counting back money, following through on commitments, and working toward a goal even when progress feels slow.
As a parent, it's incredibly rewarding to watch him step outside his comfort zone and do things that I didn't learn until later in life.
Canaans favorite lesson:
When you work hard, you deserve a treat.
After spending the weekend meeting people, selling bracelets, and working toward his goals, Canaan decided to use some of his tip money to buy himself cotton candy.
It was much deserved.
Thank you to those of you who leave him tips. Since he's working hard and saving his money toward bigger goals, those little extras give him the opportunity to enjoy small rewards along the way.
Learning to save, work hard, give, and occasionally treat yourself is all part of the journey. He has a huge heart and a kind soul.
To everyone who stopped by, purchased a bracelet, shared a post, or encouraged him along the way, thank you.
If you know of any upcoming vendor events, markets, fairs, or opportunities for a young entrepreneur, please let us know! We want to continue learning, growing, and getting more comfortable meeting and talking with new people.
Thank you Hullabaloo for this opportunity. It was a great experience and I hope your schedule fills up with young entrepreneurs. Go support this local store, your kids wont be disappointed ;)
