KissaMoon isn’t closing… we’re just changing things up!

When KissaMoon opened this summer, the plan was always for our little Finnish pop-up shop to wrap up on August 22nd.

But then something pretty amazing happened.

You supported us. A lot.

You came in for Fazer chocolate, Moomins, salmiakki, sauna goodies and Saturday pulla. You shared stories about your Finnish families, brought your friends in, tried new things and most importantly kept asking us:

“Is KissaMoon really going to close?”

So… we’ve decided not to.

August 22nd will mark the end of the Summer Pop-Up KissaMoon but it won’t be the end of KissaMoon.

Instead, we’re pivoting to The Best of KissaMoon a carefully selected collection of your favourites, best sellers and new Finnish finds available through our newly renovated website:
www.KissaMoon.ca

We’ll continue to restock favourite products as they become available, and you may still find a selection of KissaMoon goodies inside Sourdough & Sausages by The European Pantry.

Consider this your Friday warning… 😄

PULLA IS BACK TOMORROW! 🇫🇮☕️

Fresh, soft, cardamom-y Finnish coffee bread from Gooderham Bakehouse will be arriving at KissaMoon on Saturday.

There will be both frozen and not frozen Pulla!

And if previous Pulla Saturdays have taught us anything, it’s this:

Come early.

We’ll have a limited quantity available and, as always…

When it’s gone, it’s gone!

We may have been a little premature with all this talk about KissaMoon wrapping up…

Because apparently, when you have incredibly supportive customers, followers, friends and fellow Finnish-food enthusiasts, sometimes the plan changes.

And ours might be changing. 😉

We’ve been doing a LOT of thinking behind the scenes, and it looks like August 22 may not be the end of KissaMoon after all.

There are some changes coming good ones and we’ll be sharing more very soon.

For now, let’s just say…

KissaMoon may be getting ready to pivot instead of pack up.

It’s playful, a little cheeky, and extremely satisfying to say when someone is talking absolute nonsense.

Friend: “I don’t really like chocolate.”
You: Höpöhöpö. 🍫😏

Honestly, we may start using this one daily.

There’s something about August that feels a little bit magical, warm afternoons, gardens at their fullest, bees humming away, and that first tiny hint that summer won’t last forever.

Our summer shop may be winding down, but we’re starting to wonder…

Could a little piece of KissaMoon stay in Haliburton year-round? 👀

We’re currently exploring the possibility of keeping some of your favourite Finnish treats and best-selling products available at Sourdough and Sausages after our summer season ends.

Nothing is official just yet, but we’d love to know:

This week’s Finnish word is:
Näkemiin
Pronounced: NAH-keh-meen
Meaning: Goodbye — or, more warmly, until we see each other again. 💙
As I am preparing to head off to college, KissaMoon’s summer shop will soon be coming to an end.
Our final day will be Saturday, August 22, but there is still time to visit, stock up on your favourite Finnish treats, and browse the gifts and treasures in the shop.
This may be the end of KissaMoon’s first summer…but perhaps näkemiin is more fitting than goodbye. 🇫🇮✨
