Do you bring your Miya Himi Gouache Paint Sets with you when you travel?

✏️ Is doodling animals a struggle for you too? 🐾

Watch this Quicklies tutorial and learn how to DOODLE ANIMALS in an easy but effective way.

1️⃣ Llightly draw a verticle line, then cross it with a horizontal line.
2️⃣ Draw circles above and below the horizontal line.
3️⃣ Add two small circles above the top circle (left and right).
4️⃣ Then draw two ovals inside the bottom circle.
5️⃣ Add two small circles at the lower left and lower right of the bottom circle.

Now use this as your guide for doodling a cute dog! 🐢

1️⃣ Draw floppy ears at the top small circles.
2️⃣ In the center of the top circle, draw the nose, muzzle and tongue.
3️⃣ Add two dots for the eyes in the top circle. Then outline the dog's head.
4️⃣ Draw the forelegs on the bottom ovals. And add two short lines for toes.
5️⃣ Draw hind paws on the lower left and lower right circles.
6️⃣ Outline the body, and add the tail and whiskers.

And you're done! 🎨 You can doodle other animals with this same guide. 🐱🐻

Flat paint?! 🎨 Why not CREATE TEXTURES WITH ACRYLIC PAINTS instead!

Watch this Quicklies tutorial and learn how to create textured art using napkin and acrylic paints.

1️⃣ Tape paper down to keep it in place.
2️⃣ Mix acrylic paint with texture paste.
3️⃣ Using paper napkin (tissue paper), dab paint on to your paper.
4️⃣ Keep doing this until paper is filled with paint.
5️⃣ As a bonus, add gold acrylic paint on to your painting.
6️⃣ Let it dry and remove tape. Or remove tape immediately then let dry.

Michael is a Filipino visual artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and IB Visual Arts educator whose practice spans illustration, painting, printmaking, and design.

Inspired by East and Southeast Asian art, mythology, history, and science fiction, he creates works in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and digital media that explore culture, storytelling, and contemporary social themes.

Alongside his artistic practice, he is passionate about art education, urban sketching, and mentoring emerging artists through teaching, workshops, and community engagement.
