Yogalates London is the home of Solomon Yogalates in the capital, combining core-stabilising Pilates and heart-opening yoga practices for a safe yet dynamic practice that is suitable for a wide variety of ages and abilities. An award-winning exercise system, Yogalates combines the effective, body conditioning mat-work of Pilates with regenerative ancient yoga practices; building strength, stamina,
tone and flexibility in the body whilst freeing the mind and soothing the nervous system through yogic breathing techniques. This energising fusion incorporates the latest scientific research into functional movement, back care and therapeutic exercise. Particular attention is paid to correct spinal alignment and strengthening of deep postural muscles to bring the whole body into balance. Yogalates is safe and suitable for all ages and fitness levels, even complete beginners and those with existing injuries. YIN YOGA:
Beth has also been teaching Yin Yoga since 2017, having participated in two immersive teacher trainings with the internationally renowned Yin teacher, Norman Blair. Involving long, slow holds in supported yoga postures (with props!), students can release deeply held tension in particularly tight areas such as the hamstrings, glutes, spine, hips and shoulders. This practice stimulates deeper connective tissues of the body, such as the fascia, ligaments and tendons, and can be well suited to those with tight muscles and/or restricted mobility. Yin can also be incredibly beneficial for clearing energy blocks in the body and soothing a busy mind. This practice not only creates space in the physical tissues, but also in the mind, relieving symptoms of stress and anxiety and encouraging a greater presence of mind. In this way, Yin Yoga can be a helpful introduction for those interested in mindfulness and meditation, and a great accompaniment to more dynamic and muscular Yogalates practice. ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Beth has practised yoga and Pilates for fifteen years and discovered Solomon Yogalates whilst touring abroad as an actress ten years ago. The intelligent yet challenging approach to combining these two disciplines quickly appealed, becoming part of her routine both on tour and back in London (a much needed respite from the city’s hectic pace!). Beth studied under the guidance of the method's founder Louise Solomon in 2014. Louise developed Yogalates in the early ’90's and has received worldwide success with her DVD series; voted #1 in the UK for health and fitness. Beth has been a qualified Yin Yoga teacher since 2017, having gained two teaching certifications with renowned Yin teacher Norman Blair. She runs regular Yin-focused 'Mini Retreat' day events during term time as well as annual international retreats. Beth is based in Hammersmith and teaches public Yogalates classes in Fulham, Hammersmith and St Margarets, private 1:1's upon request and corporate Yin & Yogalates.
