There’s something about quilts made with just two colors. They can be graphic, bold and modern. They are the Coco Chanels of the quilt world, wearing a seemingly simple ecru blazer trimmed in black. They exude confidence and obviously do not care what you think about their pared-down palette.
 
On the other hand, two colors can be understated, comforting and classic. Effortlessly put together and totally approachable. Something red and white, maybe. The soft, worn quilt that makes you nostalgic for childhood summers spent at the cabin on the lake. A little Ralph Lauren if you please.
 
That being said, 2-color quilts come in more varieties than you might think.

A couple months ago I received an email from someone who had just placed an order. She realized she made a mistake and ordered the wrong fabric color. She asked if I could catch the order and change it.

I replied right away and said that I can absolutely take care of that for her. It was an easy peasy edit I made, all good.

She replied right away. I figured that her response would be just a quick thanks, and that's what her first sentence was.

But then there was a whole extra long paragraph after that. I saw that it was a big chunk of words, took a deep breath, and nervously started reading it. In my experience, lots of words are either really good or really bad.

I quickly read it then deeply exhaled, realizing I was literally holding my breath. I read it again more slowly. And then I read it again even more slowly. It was such an out-of-the-blue genuine compliment. I am still glowing from her words.

What did she say? I just posted it on the front of our website, and I'll share it here, too.

So when was the last time you received a compliment that took your breath away? It doesn't happen very often, does it?

What if you set aside 5 minutes today and kindly give someone positive feedback? It could be for someone you know or for a stranger for some minor little thing. It's a gift of your time and your words that'll make their day. It REALLY meant a lot to me. 🥰
