After reading “The Quilt Binding Bible” by Marci Baker, it was time to give a couple of her techniques a try. Because oddly enough, a quilt was ready to finish. Finish! It’s almost like a national holiday.

Marci’s book included lots of binding options, and lots of ways to make them all perfect. I decided to see if my usual process could use an update. I tried just a couple of simple tweaks (baby steps, friends). You can read how it went, what I thought and what I’ll be doing from now on.

She expertly delves into the tiniest details that make a nice difference in your finished product. In addition to tips for making crisp corners, she offers instructions on everything from continuous bias binding to fixing crooked strips that you’ve sewn together. (How does she see me doing that?)

Marci includes details on how to make fancy bindings, plus small projects to practice your new binding techniques. And something to love about Marci: she’s an advocate for the done-is-better-than-perfect approach to making. Yahoo!
