Our trip in cedros was very good, we scored the first day with limits of 30lb yellows and a nice trophy WSb, day 2 was rough with 2 bigger yellows in the morning and calico in the afternoon, today was slow but perfect weather and a mixed bag of sheepshead and some huge calico on yo-yos, we cross back to P.E tomorrow and the Bay of La for til Monday, Alex wants to fish more and go snorkeling. Thank you Cedros SportFishing Diving Jonathan Zurita for the excellent accommodations and making our trip so relaxing and convenient.
We were able to donate quite a few fishing and education supplies for cedros, our friend connected us with the president of the deportiva and our products will be used to reward the winners of the upcoming local fishing tournament and the women’s fishing club.
A lot of very good memories made.

Today was like I went to heaven. My personal record 6 30lb yellow tail for breakfast, back to the house for lunch, and a nice 50lb White Sea bass for an afternoon snack. They are vacuum sealing and processing our catch now, the only problem with such a good day of fishing is….
What do we do tomorrow to top this?

We had fun in fishing for . Here are a few photos to enjoy from our trip. Focusing all of our effort on tuna and deciding not to stop for bait was a bit of a risk. We arrived quickly to the grounds before putting out 3 trollers at varying distances up to 500 feet. 6 hours in the zone yielded 2 bites and 1 landed on madmac 200s in purples and pinks.

We were very lucky to all get a chance to pull on a big fish before finally losing it at the boat. The bigger the fish, the harder they fight as they say.

We also learned best practices for trolling from the local captains and suggestions to go by.

No swivels or hardware on the leader with a knot tied straight to the lure as well as ensuring your trailing treble hooks have enough size to fully hook the target species. Troll at different distances to avoid tangles. Keep the back of the boat clear when trolling to avoid any confusion when a fish is hooked. And lastly communicate what the plan is before going out.

Light painting in Baja, we were able to get a couple of the captains to spin the light around and make some photos. All of these are single long exposure shots of 15 seconds each. We put music on and tell them to dance. Good times
