AS-Motor develops high grass mowers for tall grass, steep slopes and difficult terrain. Since 1959, AS-Motor has built high grass and slope mowing equipment for places where conventional lawn mowers reach their limits.
It began with a specific job. Alfred Schefenacker needed a solution for steep vineyards and infrequently mown orchard meadows. When no suitable machine was available, he developed the first Allmäher. That practical problem shaped a brand which still starts with the ground and the vegetation rather than a generic machine concept.
Hochgras Performance does not describe one mower. It covers a range of technical responses to dense growth, rough ground and demanding slopes.
On a steep slope, a low centre of gravity, traction and predictable handling matter. Depending on the application, self-braking drives, all-wheel-drive systems or remote-controlled tracked mowers add another level of control. In tall grass, the priorities change. Cross-blade and flail systems need to take in tough growth, break it down and keep material moving through the deck without repeatedly stopping the job.
The AS-Motor range therefore includes pedestrian Allmähers, flail mowers, off-road ride-on mowers, remote-controlled slope mowers and electric models. Each machine has a defined role. The drive system, cutting technology and controls need to match the area being maintained.
Development and production are based in Bühlertann, Germany. AS-Motor has been part of the AriensCo family of brands since 2021, while remaining closely connected to its German manufacturing site, specialist dealers and serviceable engineering. Spare parts remain available for up to 30 years for many AS-Motor machines, extending working life and keeping repair part of long-term ownership.
On this profile, we show AS-Motor high grass mowers where the engineering is put to work: in tall grass, on slopes, across orchard meadows, beside roads and on difficult-to-reach ground.
