Not the flashiest stone package I’ve put together, but one that contains a lot of science! This custom order is for a young lady that has a deep interest in geology.

And the center is rutile in quartz and a howlite bracelet. At the top of the circle is a piece of fluorite with inclusions. Going clockwise, next we have a piece of polished solicited. a piece of quartz geode, raw garnet in mica schist matrix, raw moonstone, petrified wood, spiderweb obsidian, emerald in matrix, a bivalve shell fossil, and black tourmaline.

Not shown is a tag for each item that provides the name and a little bit about the science behind the piece. Love putting together special packages for young people who are interested in geology and geology!

Reading River Mumma by Zalika Reid-Benta. Fascinating book about Jamaican young adults set in Canada. Engrossing writing and a great plot. I struggled a bit at first to understand some of the Jamaican dialogue, but quickly caught on. Only about 2/3 of the way through the book, but I highly recommend Rive Mumma. Enjoying that it’s not centered on Eurocentric storytelling.

This holiday season, I have decided to sell part of my overflow collection. All package deals include gift wrapping. This includes wrapping each stone in tissue paper, a tag with my best guess on the stone identification, and an upcycled container to hold them. It is a perfect gift for the rock lover in your life!

What may be in your mystery package? Polished, raw, or cut stones, small fossils, stone bracelets, or earrings. The stones may include quartz, rose quartz, amethyst, moonstone, leopard skin jasper, common green opal, raw rubies, sapphires, aquamarine, or emerald in matrix, pyrite, agate, aventurine, calcite, sodalite, lepidolite, and many more.

Please note: The raw stones are just that, RAW. They are what comes out of the earth before polishing, cutting, dying, or repairing. The raw rubies, sapphire, aquamarine, and emeralds are not gem quality stones.
