My visit to Copenhagen earlier this month was to check out CIFF, so my short but sweet three day stint was mostly spent inside the Bella Convention centre, which only left me with a few solid hours to cram in some exploring. Copenhagen is a beautiful city to visit, but beware… it’s very expensive!
My highlights were the food!! Everything was great (but $$) and the architecture 😍
My recommendations are:
1) stay somewhere central so you can explore on foot or bicycle and take in the gorgeous historic buildings of the Medieval Centre & the shopping 🛍️
2) Aim to spend just a few days unless your budget allows for longer
The sister hotel to the award-winning Coco Hotel. The foyer alone is reason to step in. Their restaurant (also award-winning) is decked out with fresh flowers and incredible attention to detail.
As far as value for money goes… the buffet breakfast at Hotel Bella Grande - Award-winning boutique hotel in Copenhagen is amazing. The selection is delicious, fresh & varied & bonus – Includes Prosecco 🥂
Every major city has amazing vintage boutiques… I recommend doing your research and narrowing down to two to three top picks.
A good way to help keep your Scandi trip more wallet-friendly is to seek out the thrift and second-hand boutiques. Their price points are much more reasonable. Head to Indre By for some goodies.
The streets are clean, the hedges and trees are beautifully manicured and the buildings are stunning. You really feel like you’re in Europe walking around this part of Copenhagen.
This was mouth-watering. If you’re not a herring fan 🐟 there are plenty of other options to choose from.
An authentic, quaint and very reasonably priced eatery for lunch. They are renown for their open-faced sandwiches 🥪
If you’re not into cycling, the city has an incredible & easy to navigate Metro. But if you want to experience the city like a local – opt to bike 🚲 the city is designed for cyclists.
The courtyard is so pretty… go for a beer or cocktail as a pit stop while you’re exploring.
The location and interiors make this is a winning choice
My favourite breakfast in Copenhagen! Delicious… plenty of great options on the menu & reasonably priced.
Iconic, so yes it’s busy!
