I’ve been working on this painting lately, and every time I sit down with it, that phrase keeps coming to mind:

“Rise from the things that tried to break you.”

Life has a way of bringing unexpected challenges. Sometimes they leave us feeling lost, uncertain, or wondering if we’ll ever feel like ourselves again.

But I’ve learned that healing doesn’t always happen all at once.

Sometimes it happens one small step at a time.
One brave decision.
One new beginning.
One LAYER at a time.

As I prepare for this new chapter and a move to a place that lay only in my dreams , I’ve been reflecting on how many times life has asked me to start over. Looking back, some of the hardest seasons became the very things that shaped me into who I am today.

And while my address may be changing, Soulayerz isn’t going anywhere. 💛

We’re simply taking this journey to a new place, carrying the same mission of creating connection, creativity, and community wherever we go.

If you’re standing at the edge of something new, this is your reminder:

✨ You survived the hard part.
✨ You are stronger than you know.
✨ You can rise too.

There’s something about this reminder that feels especially meaningful today. 🇺🇸❤️

We spend so much time looking behind us… replaying moments, wishing we could change things, carrying things we were never meant to carry forever.

And sometimes we look so far ahead that we forget to the life that’s happening right now is really all we need.

This breath.
This day.
This is where our life begins.

Memorial Day always brings reflection, gratitude, and remembrance… but also a gentle reminder that life is precious and fleeting. We honor the past, hope for the future, we don’t live backwards but bravely step ahead.

So today, maybe the invitation is simply this:
Slow down.
Be present.
Notice the beauty around you, the little things.
Laugh louder.
Love your people well.
And truly love the life you’ve been given. Make the most, live the most, be the most. You were made to shine. ✨ 🫶

There’s something really powerful about creating over what once felt finished. 🎨

This painting began on an old, used canvas… layered over with new color, new vision, and a completely new story. And honestly, I think that’s a lot like life.

Sometimes the foundation underneath us holds pieces of who we used to be — old chapters, old pain, old versions of ourselves. But that doesn’t mean something beautiful can’t still grow there.

Layer by layer, we rebuild.
Softly.
Bravely.
Intentionally.

And sometimes the very thing we thought had to be discarded becomes the foundation for something even more meaningful than before. 🤍

This piece feels like calm…
like becoming…
like stepping into a new season with courage and grace.

✨ New beginnings don’t erase the past.
They transform it.

I think dragonflies are reminders that we can survive hard seasons and still learn how to fly again. ✨

They symbolize change, resilience, strength, and learning to move with the light instead of staying stuck in the dark.

And honestly… I think a lot of us need that reminder sometimes.

That even after difficult chapters…even after loss, heartbreak, disappointment, or starting over…there is still beauty left in us.Still light.Still growth.Still joy waiting on the other side. 💛

This painting felt like hope to me.Simple as that.

Some reminders aren’t loud.
Some reminders are stitched into the quiet things we create with our hands. 💛

This journal was made to remind someone that strength isn’t always about “pushing through.”
Sometimes strength looks like being present, resting when needed, and holding onto hope.
Choosing softness and courage at the same time.

I think creativity has a way of speaking to the soul when words can’t. 🎨✨

May this be your reminder today:

You are allowed to keep becoming.
