🐘 Elephants Remember. Elephants Grieve.

In the wild, elephants are known for their incredible memory—recognizing places, people, and other elephants even after many years. But even more moving is the way they grieve. When one of their herd passes away, elephants will pause, gather, and often linger in silence. They touch the bones with their trunks. They remember. They mourn together.

That’s why the elephant is more than just a carved piece in our collection—it’s a reminder of love, loyalty, and the bonds that last beyond time.

💡 Let this hand-carved elephant remind you of the strength of memory and the beauty of honoring those we’ve loved and lost.

🦛 Lead like the hippo: when to stay under water, when to rise

In nature, hippos spend most of their time submerged—calm, steady, and watchful. They only break the surface when it’s needed.

In leadership, this becomes a powerful metaphor:
• Submerge — listen, observe, let your team speak up.
• Surface — intervene, clarify, take decisive action.

The best leaders don’t always dominate the conversation. They wait, they watch, and then they emerge at just the right moment.

We love the hippo not just for its form but for the reminder it gives us: wise leadership is about timing, restraint, and presence.

Grab a hippo from upeoshop.com and put it on your desk to remind you…be a hippo.

How many hippos can you stack before they tumble? 🤔🦛
Our little soapstone friends are naturals at balance—though we think they might be holding their breath here! 😂

👉 Drop a 🦛 in the comments if you’d accept the challenge!

“UPEO wa macho” ✨ means horizon in Swahili.
It’s about fresh beginnings, possibilities, wide-open skies - as far as the eye can see. 🌍

If you could describe your horizon right now in one word, what would it be?”
