What I learned from visiting customers in the Philippines:

Customers do not only judge a supplier by price.

Before working with a supplier, they are also trying to understand whether the supplier can really support their work.

During my recent visits, I noticed that serious buyers usually care about very practical things:

• whether the material fits their application
• whether sample testing can be arranged properly
• whether supply can stay stable after the first order
• whether communication is clear and efficient
• whether the supplier understands the actual project, not only the product

For copper slag abrasive, this is especially important.

The discussion is not only about selling material.

It is about understanding how the material will be used, what the customer is concerned about, and how the supplier can reduce risk during the whole process.

Meeting customers in person always gives a different understanding of the market.

During my recent visit to the Philippines, I had the opportunity to meet with customers including HERMA SHIPYARD INC. and REDACHEM INGREDIENTS PHILIPPINES, INC.

For copper slag abrasive supply, online communication is important.

But face-to-face meetings show many things that messages cannot fully explain:

• how customers evaluate abrasive materials
• what they care about before placing an order
• how supply stability affects their decision

In blasting projects, many buyers start by comparing price per ton.

That is normal.

But once the project starts, the real cost is often affected by more than the material price.
