I couldn’t resist sharing just how gorgeous these flowers are… 💛 So I cut these beautiful calla lilies just for me today.

Just a reminder that I won’t be at the farmers market this week, but I’ll see you all again on Friday, August 7th!

The field needed a little break from cutting this week, and after all the rain we’ve had, everything has been happily drinking it up. 🌱

Next week I’ll have the last flush of Vincent’s Choice sunflowers, plenty of gorgeous lisianthus, calla lilies, and maybe even a few dahlias making their first appearance of the season!

I hope you all made it through the storms Tuesday night. I never really paid attention to the weather much prior to farming. I would enjoy a good thunderstorm on my back deck. ⛈️

Now… I cringe a little when I hear the wind whipping. Even though I net and stake as best as I can it still whipped my babies around quite a bit. No major issues here except a few tops of my stems that will straighten up in the buckets.
I’ve been up early and busy this morning as you can see…. 🙃 This week I’ll have the first of my Lisianthus that are pretty pinks, white, purples and even green, they are just starting to take off so stay turned for a lot more! The seeds are started the end of November. Yes! November 2025!! 😳 They take a lot of babysitting but they are so worth it. ❤️ I have a few new varieties for me, and some GORGEOUS celosia from floret seeds I grew this year. I’m excited for you all to enjoy them this week at the Sayre Farmers Market at Howard Elmer Park by The SBA tomorrow (7/24)!! See you soon!

Since it was a nice cool day yesterday I spent it doing just one of the NOT so glamorous sides of flower farming… (you know the side they don’t show in all the reels and TikTok videos)…. WEEDING! 😕

BUT… this morning I enjoyed my coffee while harvesting a few of these beauties. New for me this year is Lake Michigan trachelium! I started it from seed back in February and kind of gave up on it. It was SO TINY for FOREVER. And if you know me patience is not my strong suit. Growing flowers is helping me with that though. I spend months and months babying seedlings and waiting for them to bloom! I am excited that it finally started to take off and I cannot describe the colors. The camera just doesn’t do it justice especially the purple. 😍
