It was a pleasure for Purple Chord - Classic Drums & Cymbals to support Simply Rock during their appearance in Praça da República in Tavira on 7th August, celebrating the 150 years of the Clube de Tavira .
We were delighted to provide the full drum kit including hardware and cymbals. Our dressed in purple sparkle looked fabulous on stage and the sound matched accompanied by 1970's
Simply Rock is a fantastic rock tribute group and Purple Chord is proud to be associated with such accomplished musicians.

VLT Shell Technology

Chester favors DW's specialized VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) shell configuration. In a VLT shell, the outer plies of wood run vertically instead of horizontally. This reduces shell tension and allows the drum to vibrate at a much lower fundamental pitch without sacrificing projection or resonance

Chester Thompson shell configuration, sustain and projection of maple, married with the warmer quality of mahogany is fast becoming a favourite with studio and touring artists alike, versatile wood combo comprised of mostly maple, with a mahogany inner and outer ply, is excellent for a wide variety of musical applications

This striking configuration pairs the deep, high-gloss Candy Black Burst gradient with premium Black Nickel hardware. The dark burst edges blend seamlessly into the smoked nickel plating on the lugs, hoops, and tom mounts for a unified, modern aesthetic.

Key Visual Features

Graduated Burst: A rich, translucent candy black edge that fades smoothly to reveal high-figured exotic wood grains like Heartwood Curly Maple or Monkey Pod in the center.
Black Nickel Accents: A smoky, mirrored dark-metallic plating on the Turret lugs, True-Hoops, and STM (Suspension Tom Mounts) that replaces traditional bright chrome.
Exotic Shell Face: The underlying exotic veneer provides a contrasting natural shimmer under stadium lights.
