Yesterday’s flower bar for a bridal shower at The Refinery in Pittston. 💗
Love the atmosphere of this place!

We do flower bars different around here… each bar is tailored to the vibe of the person/event and season it’s intended for. We don’t opt for what’s “cheapest,” we opt for what makes your event special. This means lots of choices! Choices in blooms, in fillers, in wrapping paper, in styles of ribbon… and curating the most beautiful florals from locally grown zinnias to the always elegant quicksand roses to lush greens like silver dollar eucalyptus. With all of these choices, your guests create something unique to their personality and style, rather than everyone going home with a “one-size-fits-all” bouquet of nothing but baby’s breath, carns, and mums (not that there’s anything wrong with these flowers but I often see flower bars and I’m like, where are the focals? Where are the greens? Where are the choices? Where is the “wow”?

I love bringing the WOW to our event hosts, honorees, and guests. 💗

Floral design for me is always personal. As an empath, I’m always putting myself in the shoes of the person I’m designing for and moving through what speaks to me as capturing their essence, or trying to convey a feeling that is truly “them.”

These, however, were extremely personal.
These were for my daughter’s grandmother, whom I loved dearly.
Before she passed, I visited her and read her Robert Frost. She loved the woods, she loved to gather and harvest seasonal branches and flowers and she took extreme pleasure in simple things, like the wind moving through wheat or a beautiful sunset.

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep.”

I kept envisioning both her spirit and her crossing over as when the forest meets a meadow during golden hour, just before sunset. I wanted to capture that spirit as well as honor her love of primitive decor, candles, pumpkin spice, and foraging. I placed scented pumpkin spice sachets tucked into the arrangements and used her primitive tool chest as a canvas to add the leftover ferns and stems in an organic, spontaneous way.

I know she would have been obsessed with the results!!
We love you Roseanne Lesh and will forever be missing you.

The difference between working to live and living to work…
When I make a bouquet or do anything with flowers for another person, I ask myself “what is the MOST I can do with that price point” versus others that ask themselves, “what is the LEAST I can do for that price point” — the difference lies in love being a driving force. When you love your craft, you love the art, and you love your fellow human, it shows in the things you create!

Make sure you support the people in your circle, in your neighborhood, and in your life that LOVE what they do and do it well. Because the people doing the bare minimum will always survive — those giving it their all and doing the MOST need that reciprocated to continue pursuing their passion!

Late delivery tonight — 15 bouquets to some special people that definitely deserve it!
Shoutout to Patchwork Planting for providing the peonies for this weekend’s “vigilante goodness” bouquets for hospice workers.
If you know of a person or organization to keep in mind when there are leftover flowers after an event, shoot a message over!
