The first of our range has landed, and our anodised aluminium bonsai wire is officially for sale.

Available in 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4mm. The four gauges that handle the vast majority of bonsai wiring, whether you’re setting a delicate branch or anchoring heavier movement. Soft, easy to work and holds its shape.

This is just the beginning of what we’re building at Old Tree Yard.

We can’t wait to share them with the bonsai community and get them into the hands of enthusiasts who are as passionate about bonsai as we are.

The bonsai community has been incredibly supportive as we’ve been building Old Tree Yard.

After reaching out for advice on packaging, we received so many helpful recommendations and supplier suggestions. Today, we put that advice into action and sourced our packaging suppliers.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to help us. Every step brings us closer to launching, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you all.

Big milestone for Old Tree Yard today. Our first stock order is officially placed!

From soil components to wire, the building blocks of our bonsai journey are on their way. Every great nursery starts with a single order, and this is ours.

Tomorrow we’ll be setting up and organizing our storage and packing area, and we might even add a couch and a fridge for coffee breaks!

It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come through so many small steps, and we’re loving the process.

Building something from the ground up is hard work, but it’s so rewarding to watch it all come together.
Every improvement brings us one step closer to serving the bonsai community we care so deeply about.

This week has been focused on meeting with suppliers, reviewing products, and finalising the first stock that will be arriving soon.

We’re taking our time to ensure that every product we bring in meets the standards that bonsai enthusiasts expect. From quality substrate components to the essentials needed to support healthy tree growth.

Building something worthwhile doesn’t happen overnight, but with each meeting, each sample reviewed, and each decision made, Old Tree Yard is moving one step closer to opening its doors.
