A Newspaper Article in 2026? Does it make sense?
There was a time when Sunday mornings had a familiar rhythm.
The newspaper arrived, the kettle went on, and somewhere in the house someone disappeared behind several enormous sheets of paper. If you wanted to speak to them, you occasionally had to wait until they had finished the business section—or at least found out what happened in the sport.
Today, things look rather different.
We wake up, reach for our phones and start scrolling.
↳ A headline. Scroll.
↳ A video. Scroll.
↳ An advert. Scroll.
↳ Someone's opinion. Scroll.
↳ Breaking news. Scroll.
And twenty minutes later, we have consumed an extraordinary amount of information—but how much of it can we actually remember?
That raises an interesting question:
Are we better informed today—or simply exposed to more information?
Perhaps that is where the humble newspaper still has something to teach us.
The Newspaper Forced Us to Slow Down
A newspaper was never designed to compete for your attention every three seconds.
It invited you to stop.
↳ To read beyond the headline.
↳ To discover a story you weren't necessarily looking for.
↳ To consider another person's perspective.
And occasionally, to fold the thing correctly—which, for some of us, was a skill never fully mastered.
There was something deliberate about reading a newspaper.
You didn't merely consume information.
You spent time with it.
And perhaps that is something worth bringing back.
So Why Is Vision 2026 Creating a Newspaper Article?
Not because we want to return to the past.
Because we want to recover something valuable from it.
Every Thursday on Vision 2026 – Giving Expertise a Voice, experienced business leaders, entrepreneurs and specialists share knowledge accumulated over years—sometimes decades.
And those wonderful little pieces of wisdom that make you stop and think:
"I wish someone had told me that years ago."
A live show captures the conversation.
Our Future Forward Newsletter explores the thinking behind it.
And now our Vision 2026 newspaper article captures some of the most valuable lessons in a format designed to be read, reflected upon and shared.
Because valuable wisdom deserves a longer life than the few seconds it takes to disappear down a social-media feed.
From Scrolling to Thinking
↳ Not simply to consume—but to learn.
↳ Not simply to react—but to apply.
That is why Vision 2026 is bringing back a little of the newspaper's spirit.
↳ Not yesterday's news.
↳ Tomorrow's wisdom.
And if one article gives you one idea that changes the way you lead, protect, grow or manage your business, perhaps the old newspaper still has a few lessons left to teach us.
