Great news, Durban! We’ll be spending this Saturday swapping kids’ books in Mitchell Park as part of the BookBankSouthAfrica Fundraising Book Fair 🚀 🦄 🌟 🧸 🤖 🧚♀️
Bring the little ones to swap kids’ lit for all age group and take part in a fun day of activities (and treats!) planned for the park. Grownups needn’t be left out: our little free library shelf at NOW COFFEE is just metres away, and will be stocked and ready for you.
📖 What kind of kids’ books does FAIR need?
We are always in need of children’s books, from picture books up to chapter books and YA. They should be in decent condition with all pages intact, but needn’t be perfectly pristine. We especially love to receive books in African languages.
📖 I don’t have a book to swap but I want to take part!
That’s ok – for those arriving without a book, or stumbling upon the swap, there’s the option to buy a book swap token for R20. One token, one book!
📖 What’s the fundraising for?
BookBankSouthAfrica helps a number of local charities, and we’re involved because our friends at Mitchell Park Paws are a beneficiary of this event! If you’re able to donate to them, please do – they are a registered NPC accepting monetary donations at the details on their page, and donations of cat food which you can bring along on the day!
