I delivered this Ottobach to a client in Houtbay in December and i received one of those dreaded calls that a key was not working properly. I checked it out today while i did the tuning. The damper spring was not properly inserted and that caused the damper to fail. So the note was ringing continuously. Once the spring was positioned correctly it was all good. Piano sounds good as new.

I tuned this old Moore & Moore upright earlier this week. It actually sounded better than it looked. The tuning was all over the place. This piano had not been tuned for a number of years and to get a stable tuning in this case is almost impossible. It just underscore the need to tune ones piano at least once a year for it to remain stable.
