Pizza maths is not normal maths.

You make enough dough for six people. Eight people arrive.

Someone says they are “not really hungry” and then eats three slices before the next pizza has even reached the table.

Pizza night can get competitive surprisingly quickly.

Put out the dough and toppings and tell everyone to make their own. Within ten minutes, someone has built a pizza that weighs roughly the same as a small Labrador. Someone else is explaining why the crust needs to be a certain thickness.

Nobody asked them to become a pizzaiolo. It just happens.

Fortunately, eating everyone’s experiments is part of the job.
