A great storyline about a second chance romance for an older couple which is laugh-out-loud funny in parts with some deeper, richer focus in others. Gilliam writes in a highly professional manner - and yes, she's also an indie author - with fantastic use of wit and metaphors in a fast paced style with no repetitions. Nothing missing. Nothing added. Just the right length too. Themes of genealogy, academia, photography plus marriage reconciliation. Gilliam is a new-to-me author and I was most impressed. 5 STARS Available on Kindle Unlimited.

Roses in full bloom, shining brightly, at their best; some fading, past their prime; and then there are rose buds, full of promise and life. Outwardly we may be fading away but inwardly we are being changed from one degree of glory to another. Hallelujah.

Full sunshine on these lovely roses in the front garden. Another stunning Summer day. Yip. We've suddenly moved from spring weather that resembled late Autumn straight into Summer before reaching the end of May. So thankful for it.

Great storyline and interesting historical detail about Toronto, Canada in the early 1800s but the best part is that it's beautifully written with a flowing style that includes everything important like warmth, depth of emotions and Christian values and leaves out anything that would hinder a fast pace, holding the reader right to the lovely ending.

The first big white rose on this bush in our garden, and there are masses of buds. Last season it flowered for over three months, right into autumn. By the time the last flower fell off it was so cold that I didn't prune it, yet it still is looking as lovely as last year. I hope it blooms for just as long.

Puppy sitting on Granny's lap, very still and looking very serious, which is most unusual. Most of her waking moments are spent chasing people, especially the children, trying to nip their heels or their trousers or their shoes. She's a mischief.
