As more schools introduce stricter cellphone policies, learners who use a CGM and/or insulin pump still need access to their smartphones to view glucose levels, receive important alerts and manage their diabetes throughout the school day.

That is why we have developed a School Smartphone Policy Letter that parents, caregivers and healthcare teams can download and share with schools to help explain why this access is essential. 📝

This letter has been endorsed by SEMDSA, PAEDS-SA, DESSA, Diabetes Alliance, South Africans with Diabetes, Diabetes South Africa, Kids Powered by Insulin SA Support Group and Diabetic Accessories SA.
