Our *SHWESHWE WORLD MAP...* Clint(hubby) and I recently worked on a project that I have wanted to make for a long time. With the decision to attend the Sarcda trade exhibition in Jhb and a request from the owner of Dagama textiles, we made not 1 but 2 Shweshwe world maps.
Measuring 2.7mx1.8m and over 450+ pieces that all fit intricately into one another as a puzzle.
The 1st few images are from the 2nd one we made for The Cowie family who own Dagama textiles who produce the Shweshwe fabric. It had to be crated and transported via courier which I was very nervous about! It proudly sits in their office now.
They made a little video featuring the map.
The other images are from the 1st one we put together which proudly sits on our dining room wall.
The last few images were of our display at the exhibition.
The world map is challenging and fun, and we are constantly improving to make things easier and better all the time.
Special shout out to my hubby for making my dream and vision a reality and working on this together with me.

Thanks to Da Gama Textiles for the lovely mention. This was the 2nd world map we made which proudly sits in their offices.
Only using their original Shweshwe fabric. A statement piece for your home, office, or lodge. Proud to have made this 2nd edition for them.
