A TRIP TO THE CANVAS STORE

The canvas started to roll faster and faster from the roll until the last bit rolled off and the cardboard pipe showed and that was it. We were out of canvas.

A canvas-stretching workshop without a thread of canvas is a sad place. Action was required, and was taken, and a call was placed to the supplier, who not too long ago was on the wrong end of a broken global cotton duck supply chain.

The hello how are you was nervous and quickly dealt with to come to the crux of the matter, the only question that mattered: "Do you have stock?"And back came the stock reply: "Let me go check."

Minutes felt like hours felt like days. How big can a canvas shop be? How long can it take to see if there is cotton duck? The answer came and it was a yes and we were happy (slide 1) that SA Canvas can, and did, (slide 2 and 3) and what was an ugly cardboard pipe (slide 4) is now replaced by a glorious roll of canvas (slide 5).
