Sound Systems was established in 1989 (over 22 years ago) in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa. It functioned as an Audio / Visual and Events company. Some years later on décor, cater hire and tents were added. The company added Function Hire to its name to become Sound Systems / Function Design. Presently Sound Systems / Function Design is the only truly "One Stop Shop" on the Eastern extremity

of South Africa, some 400 km from Johannesburg. From inception the company became a class leader with innovation, and cutting edge technology. Sound Systems / Function Design have been involved with most of the top government functions, major corporate events and community functions in the province. Our client base stretches from Mozambique to Swaziland, Sun City, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Natal and Limpopo Provinces. No Function is too big or too small. We bring to each event over 20 years of experience and expertise. Our staff is exposed to all the latest trends and developments in the industry by means of industry related conferences, trade exhibitions and practical skills transfer. MANDELA DAY 2016 for Sound Systems & Function Design saw the Team delivering Sounds, Party Snacks, Clown Suits and collaborating with the Magic Show of 'DAVID DEE' to bring the love that Madiba felt, to a newly built school in the Makhuhlu area of Mpumalanga today. The event was attended by dignitaries from the Local Council Regions, sponsors and the happy recipients of a brand new school, Entertainment and Sponsors. Sound Systems provided the PA, Music and Technical skills, whilst Function Design came laden with Popcorn and Clown suits to add thrill to the occasion. Background Music and Technical assistance was monitors throughout the event. Sound Systems and Function Design's relationship with the Government goes back to 1988, when the likes of Dr Matthews Phosa and Jackson Mthembu were regular visitors to our premises for their champagne requirements. We consider it an honour to associate ourselves with the Worthy Legacy of Madiba!

Huge thank you to all the Guests, Artists, Friends, Colleagues and Staff who attended and helped with the EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS at 'The Paddock', Sound Systems on Friday, 22nd April 2-16.
A special thanks so Nick who really got the music thing motivated and assisted with the 'no-small-set-up' for the event, as well as playing his beloved "Strat' for us too.
It was an opportunity to get in touch with Nature, experience a Full Moon over a beautiful mountain, through the Acacias and participate in planting 'The Tree of the Year' (Ficus Natalensis, or Natal Strangler Fig).
Stunning contributions by Justin and the Zimbabwean group, who educated us to the complex possibilities of the ancient Mbiras and Marimbas with modern electronic drum-kit!
We heard our special friends Jamie, Pete and Neil (Gibralta) playing along with young up-and-coming musicians in collaborative arrangements.... that just had to be the most inspiring thing ever.... and..... our 'just about to become famous',....... Courtney with her multi-faceted 'one-gal-act' with a simultaneous rendition on Didgeridoo, Guitar and Drums??? (you have to see it to believe it)!!!
Bowled over by the talent on our doorstep....
An evening that was both cultural, appropriate and Super Cool!
To all you Earth Angels and Tree-huggers who supported our initiative - THANK YOU (hope my attempt at photography on my cell-phone can give you something of an idea of the fabulous evening..?).... Please feel free to post your comments and suggestions .... AND...... as they say in the classics .... "Watch this space"!!!!!

Earth Day is almost upon us.... "Full Moon" and an opportunity to meet outdoors and make new commitments to preserving the only planet we have.
Enjoy another evening with the Sound Systems Team, as we follow Celebrations around the world on the Big Screen, Listen and participate in Live Music on our stage and 'feel' the blessings we are wanting to preserve.
You can bring your own Picnic, or eat before you arrive.
