Sometimes you start creating something with one idea in mind… and then something unexpected happens.
That's exactly what happened with my little Praying Mantis. 🦗✨

I asked my audience to help me choose which crystal should become part of her design.

I thought I'd simply get a few votes.
Instead, you gave me opinions, reasons, suggestions, debates… and even one very determined person who decided one crystal simply wasn't enough. 😂🔮
And somewhere amongst all the fun, something rather magical happened.

People started sharing their own thoughts about creativity, inspiration and what this little Mantis made them feel.

One person even told me she hoped wearing her might help spark her own creative fire again.

That stopped me in my tracks. 💜
Because that's one of the reasons I create.
Not just to make something beautiful.
But to hopefully make someone feel something.

Maybe inspiration.
Maybe curiosity.
Maybe a little magic.
Maybe simply the urge to pick up a paintbrush, a pencil, some clay… or whatever it is that lets their creativity speak.

And perhaps that's the real magic that has been happening around this little Mantis.

🐝✨ It looks simple… but this part takes concentration.

This is one of those little moments in resin art that you don't always get to see.

I'm giving my bee pendant its final gloss layer using UV Resin, and this is where I have to slow right down and concentrate.

The resin needs to move smoothly across the surface, so I'm constantly rotating the pendant, watching how the resin is flowing and making tiny adjustments to keep that layer even.
Sounds easy, right? 😅

But UV Resin has a mind of its own sometimes. 😂

Getting a smooth, glossy finish like this is something I've had to practice and develop as a skill over the years.

It's all about patience, control, knowing how your resin behaves… and sometimes just standing there staring at a tiny piece of jewellery for far longer than anyone would think necessary. 🤣
So here's a little behind-the-scenes look at the less glamorous side of making beautiful resin jewellery.

The finished shine is pretty…

But I think the skill behind it is pretty special too. ✨🐝

Sometimes you just need a tiny leaf on your ear saying, “Yes, I have personality.” 😂🌿
