It’s World Migratory Bird Day, so it feels like the perfect moment to celebrate our Papiko collection.

Papiko means “wing” in Nyanja, and the collection was inspired by the incredible birdlife that fills the skies here in Zambia. From colourful bee-eaters to elegant kingfishers, each design is hand painted in our workshop with a portion of every sale donated to BirdWatch Zambia.

Through our bird collections, we’re proud to support the important work they do protecting habitats, monitoring species, and raising awareness for Zambia’s birdlife.

Inspired by Zambia’s iconic trees, our Masamba collection is a celebration of the wild landscapes that surround us here in South Luangwa.

Meaning “leaves”, Masamba features intertwining hand-drawn illustrations of flowers, seed pods and foliage, all brought to life in earthy greens and natural tones. Each piece is hand painted in our workshop using traditional techniques.

It’s actually quite hard for us to calculate everything we’ve donated to Malimba over the years, as it involves going back through old records and even banks that no longer exist here in South Luangwa.

However, we do know that from 2020 to the end of 2024, we’ve raised $18,692 for Malimba School through your purchases and donations.

We are still working our way through earlier records to find the full total, but for now this is what we can share, and it is all thanks to you.
