July kids from three different first-time mothers: one male and two females. The black-collared one is the male; his floppy ears resemble the breed I’ve been eyeing. Since his maternal grandmother usually has triplets, we’re keeping him as one of our bucks.

When it feels like the ancestors have turned their backs on you... 😔
​A lot can go wrong in a very short amount of time. In less than a week, I lost three promising doelings:
​The one in blue: Purchased 26 km away from our farm, she vanished in the grazing area after just 30 days with us.
​The one in orange: Died unexpectedly just four days after delivering a very healthy kid—no prior signs of illness.
​The one in green: Heavily pregnant, she suddenly started breathing heavily. As her condition deteriorated rapidly, I made the tough call to slaughter her. Inside her rumen, we found an ingested plastic bag/balloon 🎈.All were expectional breeds.
​Farming has its high peaks, but the losses hit hard. Onward and upward despite the setbacks! 🌾🐐

To those we promised turkey chicks in late July: please bear with us! Our flock is running a bit behind schedule, likely due to the ongoing cold weather, but a few have just started laying eggs. We’ll keep you posted as soon as they're ready!

The mother of the brown-headed kid died four days after giving birth, showing no symptoms of any disease. I checked her internal organs for pulpy kidney, but all tests were negative. She was vaccinated in March 2026, was an excellent mother, and had plenty of milk.
​Right now, we are doing everything we can to ensure her daughter survives at all costs. These are a great breed, bought after negotiating heavily with the local owner. They are often born as twins, and the mother sometimes had triplets.
​We will call the brown-headed one , and God will make us great again.

We added 2 indigenous serviced does to our herd, bringing it to 19 serviced does for the October to November 2026 breeding season. Nine of them are larger-frame crossbred does, but they don’t have proper records . We plan to introduce a better quality buck in December 2026 so we can start proper goat farming without replacing the whole herd.
