As part of our commitment to Dubai's Public Art strategy, we are proud to announce the inaugural Dubai Sculpture Symposium, an event held under Quality of Life in Dubai and supported by , highlighting the significance of sculpture in shaping the Emirate's visual identity. Bringing together diverse local and global sculptors, the symposium will feature live sculpting demonstrations, insightful seminars, and panel discussions, offering a forum for artists and reinforcing Dubai's position as a global cultural hub.

It is an honour for me to be a part of this special occasion sharing the subject of sustainablity in public art and design, a practice I am passionate about.

We continue on our mission to practice the Blue Mind theory, founded by our dearly departed, the late Dr Wallace J Nichols. Blue Mind theory is about the human brain and how we can benefit from being near, in, on, or under water.

As with all our events, this is a community event under the global endorsement of our wonderful and shared globally by our fellow surf therapy organisations

Never in a month of Sunday's could I have imagined when I started this creative recycling project that I would be presenting my work and Peahead.eco Sustainable Design Studio to HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

What an incredible honour.
I am humbled to be amongst a select group of environmentalists who are doing incredible work to preserve wildlife, change minds and offer solutions to our environmental challenges.

When I shared that I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland His Highness MBZ said that he has several friends from Belfast.
I wish I had said that, now he has one more!

Made from Date palm tree fronds & pressed CD cases & single use plastic cutlery ♻️

Designed to appear as a full moon during the day and a Cresent moon at night.
Incorporating elements of the ocean both visually & practically.

Visitors to the beach are invited to fill a vessel with sea water and pour it into the designated area of the sculpture base to see the aluminum & salt water Ionisation process light up the moon sculpture ✨

Materials: Desert Board made from Palm Tree Fronds, Recycled Plastic CD cases, Aluminium, Marine board 

Commissioned by Merex Investments for working with a CSR project incorporating Sustainable Development Goals

Linking art to Sustainable Development Goals SDGs can be a powerful way to raise awareness, inspire action, and promote sustainable practices.

I incorporate the SDGs in the school art workshops because we, as designers, have the ability to communicate and plant seeds of information without evoking guilt & shame about sustainability.

With grade 12 students, simply introducing the SDGs as a framework and guide for how they can focus their desire to make a positive impact in the world is a good foundation.
Regardless of the industry they choose in the future, being aware of the UN SDGs give them a foot in the right direction and good for thought on a global level.
