Biochar + Beneficial Microbes: When Carbon Becomes a Living Soil Habitat 🌱🦠
The more we learn about soil, the clearer it becomes that healthy soil is not built by adding just one thing. It is about creating the right environment for life to function.
Biochar is a stable form of carbon produced by heating biomass under limited oxygen. Its highly porous structure can provide protected spaces that help retain water, nutrients, and microbial life.
But there is an important point:
Biochar itself is not a microbial inoculant.
It provides the habitat — but the biology still matters.
This is where beneficial microorganisms, organic matter, and moisture come into the picture.
