🔍 Well-Cut Gemstone
When the cutting angles are well proportioned, more light is reflected back toward your eyes, giving the gemstone a richer, brighter and more lively appearance.

🪟 Windowed Gemstone
When a gemstone is cut too shallow, light can escape through the pavilion instead of returning to the viewer. The result is a transparent or washed-out area, often visible through the centre of the stone.

💎 August Gemstone Story: A Diamond Discovery for the History Books💎

Deep beneath the earth at Botswana’s famed Karowe Mine, something extraordinary was waiting to be discovered.

In August 2024, miners recovered a colossal diamond initially measured at 2,492 carats—a discovery so remarkable that it immediately earned its place in gemstone history. ✨🌍
After cleaning, the stone was officially recorded at 2,488 carats and later given the name Motswedi, a Setswana word meaning a water spring or the flow of underground water that emerges to the surface, bringing life and vitality.

At nearly half a kilogram, Motswedi is the second-largest gem-quality rough diamond ever discovered, surpassed only by the legendary 3,106-carat Cullinan Diamond found in South Africa in 1905.

More than a century after the Cullinan stunned the world, Botswana reminded us that the Earth can still reveal treasures of almost unimaginable scale.
