Kids don't want a quiz. They want a co-player.
Every "what color is that" and "how many do you see" turns playtime into something to get right. Swap the questions for comments instead, "wow, that tower is so tall" does the job without needing an answer.
A rule from nearly a decade in special ed classrooms: two comments for every one question.
