The mechanism is real: an abdomen plate built as a hidden door.

VORACIFLORA DENTATA. DESIGN STUDY.
This was not designed as a “scary plant.” It was designed as a predator disguised as botany.

The sensory crown reads like an organ built to detect movement and heat. The jaw behaves like an animal hinge, a skull logic rather than a floral one. Teeth are arranged for function. Curved fangs for grip, long canines for depth, and inner recurved teeth to prevent retreat. Nothing here is ornamental. It is built for capture.

The tongue is sculpted as a thick leaf like pad, intentionally misleading until the trap closes. Tendrils coil with restraint logic, guiding prey toward the bite rather than thrashing randomly.

Presented in terracotta as if kept under controlled observation, a living specimen staged for study.

This dossier begins with documented context, then follows the curse where documentation ends.

Tsantsas are historically linked to Shuar and Achuar peoples of the upper Amazon, tied to ritual practices and conflict. Later, as outside collectors and dealers pushed demand, trade expanded and the object became a commodity. Where demand grows, forgeries follow. The market produced replicas alongside real specimens, and the line blurred by design.

Lore treats the tsantsa as containment. A stitched boundary that keeps something from returning. The warning is consistent across retellings. Do not disturb the seams. Consequences are described as illness, persistent bad luck, and nightmares that do not behave like dreams.
