As a writer, I have found that going to the gym and walking in nature really helps me stick at my job, which comprises sitting, researching and writing. The protein thing is a bit annoying, I know, but I have to admit that more protein means less snacking and less time to make excuses to leave my study.
Maybe, like me, you don’t like Protein Powders. Well, I came across this homemade Seed Protein Powder about a year ago.
If you want to try it, this is the recipe:
Recipe for a whole-food blend to use in yoghurt, smoothies, and baking.
Ingredients:
Use equal parts of:
• Chia seeds
• Linseed/flaxseed
• H**p protein powder
• Pumpkin seeds
Grind roughly in a coffee grinder. Store in a sealed jar.
Nutrition per teaspoon (approx):
• Calories: 74–95 kcal
• Protein: 5–6 g
• Healthy fats: 3.5–4 g
• Carbs: 3–4 g
• Fibre: 4–5 g
• Minerals: magnesium, zinc, iron, calcium
• Omega-3: high (chia + flax)
How to use it:
• Stir 1 tsp into yoghurt
• Blend 1 tsp into smoothies
• Add 1 tsp to porridge
• Mix 1 tsp into hummus scone dough
• Sprinkle over salads or soups
Daily amount:
Suggested use: no more than 1–3 teaspoons per day.
This blend naturally supports steadier energy throughout the day:
• High fibre slows sugar absorption
• Good protein supports fullness
• Healthy fats help maintain stable blood sugar
• Very low carbs per teaspoon
