What makes an object collectible?

On 25 September, VIENNA COLLECTIBLE opened its first edition during VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2026, bringing together two Viennese spaces, Royal Maison × steininger.designers , around this one question.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on pre-opening night, and to the artists who made it possible.

At ROYAL MAISON, the focus is on artistic authorship. Rabbities, an international art project initiated by Oleg Dziubiak, invites contemporary artists to reinterpret a single sculptural rabbit form by Japanese designer Rumiko Takeda, creating unique pieces in a strictly limited edition.

At STEININGER, discover bespoke objects created and manufactured in Austria, where architecture, material, craftsmanship and longevity come together.

Two spaces. Two perspectives. One conversation about the objects we choose to keep, and why they continue to matter over time.

A table that begins with a flower and ends in gold ✨

Meet Or d’Abeille by Daum — a collection where Limoges porcelain meets the Maison’s unmistakable world of crystal.

A daisy appears throughout the service, surrounded by fine touches of gold inspired by the path of a bee through a garden. Dinner plates, dessert plates, bowls and serving pieces build one complete table story — delicate from afar, surprisingly detailed up close.

And then comes the detail that makes it unmistakably Daum: crystal elements enter the collection too, including pieces where porcelain is paired with pâte de cristal and the bee motif.
