▪️BIG BOYS - WHERE’S MY TOWEL / INDUSTRY STANDARD LP (Touch & Go) – FINALLY, a legit re-issue of this Austin, TX Punk Ur-Text! Originally released by Wasted Talent Records in 1981 on this album the occasionally cross-dressing Singer Randy “Biscuit” Turner, w/Tim Kerr (Guitar), Chris Gates (Bass) + a series of Drummers weren’t afraid to „stray away from superfast tempos in favour of some nyice white-boy Skate-Funk & w/that an early brand of Post-Punk not unlike their contemporaries The Minutemen“!

▪️THE JOHN COLTRANE QUARTET - AFRICA/BRASS (Acoustic Sounds) LP (Impulse!) – originally released in September 1961 this was Trane’s 1st album for the then fledgling Impulse! label marking a turning point in this GOATs catalogue as key work for understanding the direction he took in his final creative phase. State of the Art re-issue too: mastered entirely analogue by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the Original Tapes, QPR pressing (on 180g Vinyl)!

▪️JUSTUS KÖHNCKE – BASS IST MUSIK LP+10‘‘ Kompakt Exklusiv/Kompakt Klassiks – super-nyce overview (originally released in 2012 on CD only) of the magnifique work by this unique Voice in the history of Kompakt – all represented here! Music that knows no boundaries, only ‘weiche Zäune (soft fences)’ including a Bonus 10‘‘ w/2 of his great Covers: Jürgen Paape’s evergreen ’So weit wie noch nie‘ & the monumental adaptation of Round One’s ’New Day”, originally released under the nom de guerre Kinky Justice!

▪️ELIS REGINA – ELIS LP (Philips) – remixed & remastered (by João Marcello Bôscoli, her son) re-issue of her geat Roberto Menescal produced 1972 album, originally released by Philips Records. A fantastic set of tunes by young Composers resulting in super-sophisticated Sound & 1 of the best albums by Regina & errm…MPB!

▪️BIM SHERMAN – GHETTO DUB LP (Week-End Records) – much-needed remastered re-issue of this unbelievable DUB album, originally released by RDL Records in 1988. A stark yet soulful beauty of reverb-drenched Drums, cavernous Basslines & echo-laden Atmospherics, this is nothing short of an absolute masterpiece

▪️WEB WEB - KOVER KOVER LP (Compost Records) - a new chapter for this long running (10 years!) groop, not original Compositions this time, but amazing Jazz interpretations of tunes by a.o. Nirvana (!), Klaus Doldinger, Grace Jones, Black Sabbath (!!), Jimi Hendrix, Talking Heads, Dave Pike, Eurythmics & Kruder & Dorfmeister (!!!) exclusively! Fab stuff!

Sounding like an L.S.D.-damaged Frank Sinatra or Lou Reed playing the role of a divorced suburban dad: a religious midlife crisis disguised as a private press LP“ (originally „released“ by On Records). Mind-bogglin‘ stuff! Housed in Tip-On Sleeve.

▪️TIM MAIA - TIM MAIA LP (Vampisoul) – finally a legit re-issue of the 4th album by this larger-than-life icon whose music married American Soul & Funk w/Brazilian Samba & Pop. Originally released by Polydor Brazil in 1973 it’s considerd to be the crown jewel in his catalogue: bigger & slicker, gritty & passionate w/surprisingly majestic Grooves & fantastic Vocals - ESSENTIAL LISTEN! Pressed on 180g Vinyl.

▪️MELVINS - EVERYBODY LOVES SAUSAGES („Solid Red Like A Headwound“ Vinyl) 2LP (Ipecac Recordings) – re-issue of their fab 2013 Covers-album featuring distinctive Heavy-Sludge twists on tunes by diverse Artists s.a. David Bowie & Queen, Venom & Divine + special guest Vocalists & Players including Jello Biafra, Clem Burke, Mark Arm, Scott Kelly, JG Thirlwell & more! Sublime stuff!

▪️SPARKLEHORSE + FENNESZ - IN THE FISHTANK 15 (Special Turquoise Vinyl Edition) LP (Konkurrent) – much-needed re-issue of this 2009 collabo by 2 GOATs recorded in just 2 days in December 2007 w/ Acoustic Instruments & Electronis resulting in fab Songs & Soundscapes of rare beauty w/breathtaking Atmospheres where abstract Sounds & well-crafted traditional Song structures collide for an outstanding effort!

▪️ATTWENGER – WOS (Transparent Turquoise Vinyl Edtion) LP (Trikont) – the 10th studio album (in almost 4 decades working) by this fantastic & unique duo. Electrically charged Accordion-Slang-Punk, dialect Avant-Garde, anarchic Grooves, driving Drum & Sequencer Beats w/bent, stretched & dismantled Lyrics commenting (as always) on the state of an overheated society w/out pointing a moralising finger but rather w/humour, ideas of resistance & liberation. Inimitable & still defying categorisation, them.

▪️SALÒ - HARDCORE (Clear Vinyl) LP (Phat Penguin) – Andreas Binder’s 3,5th album is „not a feel-good album, not a revival, not a stylistic promise & certainly not a safe space. It is a description of a state of affairs. Pop, Punk, Electro-Clash are not genres here, but tools. And when did brutality become mainstream?“

▪️JESSIE WARE - SUPERBLOOM (Indie Stores „Peacock Blue“ Vinyl) LP (EMI) - known for her elegant Pop, frenzy Funk & glittering Disco tunes, Queen Ware returns w/her 6th studio album.
